Gel Nail Polish= Perfection

I have to say that I am obsessed with gel nail polish. It stays shiny and chip free for weeks. I still have on my Gelish Manicure in "My Favorite Accessory" from two weeks again. I also love Romantique, Black Pool and Asphault all by CND Shellac. I have been wanting to try the new OPI Gel colors. Do y'all have any favorites? The nail salon Onyx Nail Bar in Dallas has an awesome selection of these gel colors.

Fall Football Tailgate Gear

Tailgating outfits are always fun and spirited. Throughout the year, I keep an eye out for burnt orange (of course! Hook'em!) scarves, sweaters, tank tops, purses, jewelry, etc. For a Texas football game a few weeks ago, I settled for a white top: Strut, Burnt Orange Scarf: Sam Moon, Super Comfortable Skinny Jeans: Rag and Bone via Nordstrom, Nude flats: Target, Studded Cross Body Bag: Boutique in Rockwall, Watch: Micheal Kors.

Makeup Routine for the Perfectionist

 

My busy work life has made me realize 3 hour morning routines for hair and makeup weren't going to cut it. So with this in mind lately, I had been searching diligently for a natural looking, but still good coverage, makeup routine. I finally found it and wanted to share my secret. I have become absolutely obsessed with my new 10 minute makeup routine with my Temptu airbrush. (My previous routine would take me at least an hour- so this is a huge step!) At first when I starting using Temptu, I hated it. It would literally rub off every time I would touch my face. I kept hearing rave reviews so I gave it a second shot... This time I nixed all products (SPF, moisturizer, eye cream). It was still really sticky and actually felt wet after I applied it, so I decided i would give up just yet. As I was blow drying my hair I pressed the cool air button and dried my face for 10 seconds. This helped dry and set the product, but it was still shiny and sticky when I touched it. My hair would literally stick to my face and drive me nuts. So this time I decided to put my favorite MAC bronzer over the top using MAC brush #187. A little MAC blush below on cheek bones using MAC #129, a little eyeliner and mascara and what happened? Flawless. Glowing. All of my problem areas: redness, sunspots, scars were gone. It doesn't even look cakey, no just the perfect glow. I'm so in love with this makeup regime that when my Temptu airbrush gun malfunctioned last week, I almost died. I had to go back to gooey, sticky liquid foundation that rubs off all over everything. No worries, Temptu was awesome and sent me a brand new gun at no cost to me. I'm back up and running this morning and never looked better ;)


I know it seems like the Temptu airbrush is a little pricey, but it's actually a great investment. The pods last for a long time and you can use it on your friends or whoever without having to clean it. With regular foundation you are constantly reapplying which wastes more product, cleaning sticky brushes and clogging your pores. With Temptu it lasts all day and night and as along as you let it set, it's not messy at all.

Southern Sarah goes to the Bay Area

This summer I took a trip to San Francisco and Wine Country. The weather is much cooler there than in Austin so I pulled out my "winter" clothes. Here are some ideas to get ready for fall. We also stopped in at our friend Marc's new spread in the Russian River Valley (Sebastopol). I dressed comfortable to feed one of his baby goats and be knocked over by his giant Presa Canario dog. Jeans: AG Sweater: Old, but I like this one too Shoes: Target.
